Course University Specialist in Logistics and Production Management
Last 01/02/2019 our workmates from MRF from the purchasing and production departments: Iria Vázquez Carnero, Delwitt Campelo and Iago Castro visited the company GKN, this visit is part of the Master "Course of University Specialist in Logistics and Production Management" imparted by the U-Vigo, in the School of Industrial Engineering (campus headquarters).
The visit was made within the module 8: "The continuous improvement in the direction of logistics and production. The «Lean Manufacturing» model.
During the seminar the evolution of the company was shown from its beginnings, as series production factory, until the industrial evolution that led to the implementation of the Lean model and its application of cells in U, within the productive process, a great progress for the company, executed for almost 10 years. Currently GKN is a leading company within the group, and also outside, with a level of industrial automation adapted to the new models of industries 4.0.
During the visit to the plant the application of lean, 5S, TPM models was demonstrated, and a production management in real time by monitoring a multitude of production, quality and management data, that allow satisfying product and client needs, in the shortest time possible.
